Sidekick was developed to be the ultimate compliment for your perennial food plots.

Designed specifically as a nurse crop, this blend was carefully tested and researched to do more than just fill space. It provides immediate attraction, added diversity, and gives your perennial seedlings the protection and time they need to establish strong root systems.

At Magnet Outdoors we know diversity matters. That is why Sidekick is a strategic blend of premium oats and winter wheat.

The highly attractive oats deliver fast germination, early tonnage, and strong early season drawing power. The specially selected and tested winter wheat extends the life of the plot, maintaining attraction and forage production long after the oats have peaked. The result is a balanced blend that supports your perennials while keeping deer engaged throughout the season. Although Sidekick was designed to compliment perennial plots, it can absolutely stand on its own. If you are looking for a reliable fall food plot with excellent attraction and performance, Sidekick delivers incredible fast establishment and growth, as well as massive tonnage and is highly preferred by deer in both the early and late season. Whether you want to give your perennial plot the best possible start or plant a dependable stand-alone fall plot, Sidekick is the partner you can count on.

LIME

For best results we always recommend a laboratory soil sample. In the case that a laboratory soil sample cannot be obtained, we recommend: 500 lbs. of lime per 1/4 acre. Ideally, lime should be applied in advance before planting to effectively raise the PH.

FERTILIZER

For best results we always recommend a laboratory soil sample. In the case that a laboratory soil sample cannot be obtained we recommend: 100 lbs. of 19-19-19 or equivalent per ¼ acre. Fertilizer should be disced or tilled at the time of planting.

GROUND PREP

Lightly disk, chisel or till the fertilizer into the top few inches of the seedbed on the day of planting.

PLANTING AS A STAND-ALONE CROP

After disking, tilling or chiseling, broadcast the seed at a rate of 20 pounds per 1/2 acre. Lightly drag over the seed just enough to cover no more than a 1/2 inch. DO NOT DISK SEED IN. Then seed your perennial blend at the recommended rate directly on top. DO NOT DRAG AGAIN

PLANTING AS A NURSE CROP

After disking, tilling or chiseling, broadcast the seed at a rate of 40 pounds per 1/2 acre. Lightly drag over the seed just enough to cover no more than a 1/2 inch. DO NOT DISK SEED IN.
